JMB Classic, 2019 Season, act 1 Fun and victories in Barcelona!
Victories in LMP1, GT1 and GT2 JMB Classic starts its season in style!
The JMB Classic drivers make a magnificent start to their season in Barcelona. All of them take a victory and a podium result in the first major event of the 2019 international season, the Espiritu de Montjuic meeting organised by Peter Auto.
The Endurance Racing Legends field for GT1 >2 cars from 1994 to 2010 and LMP1 & LMP2 cars from 1994 to 2005, were dominated by the French team whose collectors made the trip to Catalunya with a Ferrari F333 SP (LMP1), a Panoz GTR1 (GT1) and a Chrysler Viper GTSR (GT2).
Despite inclement weather, especially in the first qualifying session, the JMB Classic entries put in a nearly flawless performance with two class wins in race one, the Panoz in GT1 ( ahead of the 2007 Le Mans winning Aston Martin DBR9) and the Chrysler Viper GTSR in GT2. The Ferrari F333 SP added to the podium total with a runner-up finish in LMP1 (behind a Bentley Speed 8).
In Race 2, run in the rain that returned to the region, the results were nearly perfectly reversed. The F333 took top honours in LMP1, while the Panoz finished second in GT1 and the Chrysler came home third in GT2.
A stunning performance with six podiums, including three victories from six races in which JMB Classic was entered! The next act of 2019 will take place at Spa Francorchamps from May 17 to 19.
